News account from Winsted, Connecticut: "Thursday night’s [night of April 2] storm was a veritable blizzard in this vicinity. The snow began at 8 pm Thursday, and continued falling until 6 am Friday, when it lay twenty inches deep on the level, while the roads along the hillsides and in the suburbs had drifts from four to ten feet deep."
