Frederick, Maryland. Sandy dumped heavy snow in the Appalachian Mountains from western North Carolina to southwestern Pennsylvania. Accumulations included 36.0" near Richwood, WV; 22.9" at Beckley, WV; and, 36.0" at Wolf Laurel Mountain, NC.
