Ivory Gulls in Massachusetts
January 2009

Eastern Point in Gloucester, Massachusetts (January 18, 2009)

A special thanks to Jeff and Amy Davis for the above photo
During Winter 2008-09, ivory gulls were sighted in Plymouth and Gloucester in Massachusetts. Those were possibly the first ivory gulls to be seen in Massachusetts since the 1880s. Normally, ivory gulls reside in the Arctic region and rarely come south of the Bering Sea or Canada's Maritime Provinces.
